Light Painting Photography is a photographic technique where the artist opens the shutter of a camera for an extended period of time and uses various light sources to create colour and design with in the frame. There is no photo editing.

Light Painting In Class
What I Did:
In today's lesson we done took pictures of partners and people who is holding a tennis bat and we used a light to catch the ball bouncing of the bat and before we do it we set the light and which goes when the ball bounces, once you take the photo it shows you how balls dat has bounced off it camera affects are really cool and very smart to use.
Me and my partner worked together as a pair and took photos.
Some of the photos would need improvement.
we played around with the camera to get the right effects of the camera and the position of the ball. Some of the photos we took didn't come out as good as we thought it would but we kept trying so we could get it in the right angle. we had to repeat over and over again, and the ball repeats it self when it bounces of the bat.
What Worked Well:
Best bits happened in our experiment and there was a dark black back round and most of the pictures was taken came out clearly and fine.
there weren't too much light in the back round or shining on it. I was also able to change the settings of the camera , there was meant to be blury stuff in the picture and things repeating over again.
Even Better If:
I had a bit of practise using the camera techniques, I used a DLSR camera.
Equipment for light painting:
Disadvantages for light painting; you would need to sort out the speed of the light bulb and how quick it is going and if you take a picture at the same time more pictures will come up and on the camera DLSR camera you can sort out settings as well.
There will be pictures of me with 'light painting' soon of me and uploading it.
Light painting looks very colourful and neat but messy at the same time.

Equipment for light painting:
- You will need DLSR camera with a manual settings which include a bulb.
- A camera that will shoot raw format images (not mandatory but highly suggested)
- A sturdy tripod that is not affected by the wind.
- An electric cable releases or remote trigger ( could be called either) with a locking mechanism or timer.
- At least one extra battery for your camera ( long exposures can eat up batteries quickly so you may run through two or more in the night.
- A lens hood or shade for your leans.
